Originally from New York, margareta waterman has been prominently active in the Northwest poetry world since 1987, when she founded nine muses books. Now retired in Douglas County, Oregon, she continues to perform her innovative work, frequently in Seattle and Portland and occasionally elsewhere (including China), and to produce books for herself and many colleagues.
