Amy Racely

Amy Racely received her BA in English writing from Whitworth University in 1999. Since then, she has been published in PoetsWest, VoiceCatcher, Home Address and other journals as well as being a featured reader for various events. She served as secretary for the Northwest Chapter of the Washington State Association of Activity Professionals (WSAAP) while working for a nursing home in Whatcom County. During this time, she developed her workshop "Creative Writing for Seniors" which addressed the physical and cognitive challenges of long-term care residents regarding the creative process. Amy was accepted to the Attic Atheneum, Class of 2012, where she plans to write a book-length manuscript of poetry. She currently lives in Lake Oswego with her cat, Ruby.
