Marjorie Power

Marjorie Power grew up in Stamford, Connecticut, moved to the West coast in 1967, and attended college at San Francisco State. Her most recent poetry collections include: Flying on One Wing: Poems for Breast Cancer Patients and Survivors, and Those Who Love Them (Samaritan Health Services, 2006); The Complete Tishku (Lone Willow Press, 2005); and Birds on Discovery Island (Main Street Rag Publishing Company, 2005).  Her poems have appeared in Artful Dodge, The Atlanta Review, The Bellingham Review, Blue Unicorn, Blueline, CQ, The Cape Rock, The Dos Passos Review, Eclipse, Kalliope, Main Street Rag, Parting Gifts, Poet Lore, Slant, Spoon River Poetry Review, Southern Poetry Review, and Zone 3. In addition to writing poetry, she paints furniture and other household objects, and knits for family, friends, and charity. She also enjoys ballroom dance, hiking, and attending the theater. She lives in Corvallis, Oregon with her husband, and has one son and two grandchildren.
