Ms. Miller was born and raised in Winston-Salem, NC and southwestern Virginia. She graduated from the University of North Carolina in 1978 with a Bachelor of Arts in Music (classical guitar major) and a BS in Nursing in 1982. She moved to the west in the 1980's and has worked as both a professional musician and a registered nurse. She retired in 2013 and now resides with her husband in Baker City, Oregon.
