Don Kunz

Don Kunz was born in Kansas City, Missouri in 1941, married Sandra Steele in 1965, and their son, Erik, was born in 1969. Don earned the following degrees: BA (Kansas State University, 1964), MA (University of Texas, Austin, 1965), PhD (University of Washington, Seattle, 1968). He taught literature, creative writing, and film studies at the University of Rhode Island from 1968 until his retirement in 2004, and now holds the rank of Professor Emeritus. His essays, poems, and short stories have been published in over sixty literary journals in the United States. He was nominated for a Pushcart Prize in 2004. Don and his wife currently reside in Bend, Oregon, where he continues to write fiction and poetry; volunteer with Habitat for Humanity; hike, mountain bike, and XC ski.
